Ingredients:

Baby Potatoes – 500 gms

Green Peas – 100 gms

Tomatoes – 4 finely chopped

Ghee/Oil – 5-6 tbsp

Fennel Seeds – 1 tbsp

Poppy Seeds – 1 tbsp

Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tbsp

Coriander Powder – 1/2 tbsp

Subji Masala – 1 tbsp

Cumin – 1 tbsp

Mustard Seeds – 1 tbsp

Asafoetida – 1 tsp

Green Chillies – 4 numbers

Ginger – 1 medium piece

Curry Leaves – 1 sprig

Coriander Leaves – 1 bunch finely chopped

Method:

Chop the baby potatoes in to quarters with skin.

In a pressure cooker, add water and once it starts boiling add the chopped baby potatoes.  Keep the Green Peas in the cooker in a small cup without water.  Now close the lid and cook for 2 whistles.  Drain the water and keep them aside.

Grind in a mixie green chillies, fennel seeds, poppy seeds, ginger and the cooked green peas and blend them into a fine paste.

In a kadai add ghee/oil and once hot add cumin, mustard seeds, curry leaves and asafoetida and saute for a few minutes.

Now add chopped tomatoes and saute them till they become mushy.

Now add the boiled potatoes. Add Turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder and mix them well.  Add salt and saute for 5-8 minutes till everything has blended together well.

Now add the subji masala and saute for 2-3 minutes.

Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.

Baby potato with Green peas dry subji is now ready for tasting ! Enjoy !!
