Ingredients:

Potatoes – 10 – 12

Green Chillies – 5-6

Turmeric Powder – 1 tbsp

Mustard Seeds – 1 tbsp

Urad Dal (split)  – 1 tbsp

Salt to taste

Curry Leaves – 1 sprig

Coriander Leaves – 1 bunch

Method:

Cook the potatoes in a pressure cooker for 2 whistles – once cool peel the skin, mash them gently and keep them aside.

In a Kadai add oil – once hot add mustard seeds, green chillies, curry leaves and urad dal for a few minutes.

Now add the mashed potatoes, turmeric powder, and mix them well.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Yummy potato masala is ready !

Note: Another variation of this recipe is where we can add chopped onions, ginger and channa dal (instead of urad dal) in step 2.  Rest of the process is the same.
