Cauliflower – 1 large cut into small florets

Green chillies – 4-5

Masoor dal – 1 1/2 cups

Moong dal – 1 1/2 cups

Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp

Oil – 4-5 tbsp

Asafoetida – 1 tsp

Curry Leaves – 1 sprig

Salt to taste


Steam cook the cauliflower so that it is half cooked and keep it aside.

Soak the Masoor dal and Moong dal for 1 hour and blend it coarsely.

In a kadai heat oil and once hot add Mustard seeds , green chillies , curry leaves and Asafoetida and saute for a couple of minutes .

Now add the blended dal mix and saute till they are well cooked without any moisture .

Now add the cauliflower and salt  and mix well. Saute for a few more minutes till the whole mixture is soft.
