Ingredients:

Chow chow (Bangalore kathrika) – 2 cut into cubes

Tamarind paste – 2 tbsp

Mustard seeds – 2 tsp

Urad dal – 2 tsp

Fenugreek seeds – 2 tsp

Fresh coconut – 1 cup

Red chillies – 4-5

Curry Leaves – 1 sprig

Oil – 4-5 tbsp

Salt to taste

Method:

In a kadai heat oil and once hot add Urad dal, Fenugreek seeds, red chillies and saute for a few minutes. Allow the mixture to cool and set aside.

In a mixie blend the roasted mixture together with fresh coconut into a fine paste.

In the same kadai add some oil and once hot add Mustard seeds, and curry leaves and saute for a couple of minutes.

Now add the chopped chow chow and saute for a few minutes. Now add the tamarind paste and mix well.

Now add the blended paste, salt and mix well. Add three cups of water and let it come to a boil till the mixture thickens.
