Potatoes – 3 finely chopped

Cauliflower – 200 gms cut into small florets

Green capsicum – 1 medium size cut into small pieces

Onions – 1 roughly chopped

Tomatoes – 2 roughly chopped

Green chillies – 3

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp

Coriander powder – 1 tbsp

Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

Garam masala powder – 1 tsp

Curry Leaves – 3-4

Oil – 2-3 tbsp

Butter – 2 cubes

Coriander leaves – 1 bunch

Salt to taste


In a cooker steam the potatoes and cauliflower for 5 minutes and allow it to cool. Keep it aside.

In a kadai heat oil and once hot add Cumin seeds, green chillies, curry leaves and onions and saute for a few minutes. Now add ginger and garlic paste and tomatoes and saute till the tomatoes become mushy. Take it off the heat and once cool blend into a fine paste.

In the same kadai add oil and once hot add Mustard seeds and capsicum and saute for a few minutes. Now add the potatoes and cauliflower and mix well. Next add the onions and tomatoes paste that we had set aside earlier. Now add Turmeric powder, red chilli powder, Coriander powder, Garam masala powder and salt  and mix well.

Let this cook for a few minutes and add butter and mix well. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
